On-device processing. Dilcall processes speech recognition, translation and speech synthesis on your Mac. Call content is not uploaded to Dilcall’s translation or license servers, and saved conversation history is stored locally. Your call app transmits the conversation to the other person. We process the information needed to purchase, deliver and manage your license.

1. Who we are

The data controller is [LEGAL NAME], an individual operating under the laws of [COUNTRY/REGION] (“we”, “us”). Contact for privacy matters: [SUPPORT EMAIL]. We have not appointed a data protection officer, because we do not process personal data on a large scale or special categories of data.

2. Information we collect

2.1 On-device call processing

The dilcall app uses the speech recognition, translation and voices built into macOS. Audio from your microphone and from the call, the recognized text, the translations and your conversation history are processed and stored only on your Mac. We never receive them.

2.2 When you buy a license

Purchases are processed by Waffo Pancake, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record. Waffo collects your payment details; we never receive or store card numbers. From Waffo we receive and keep: your email address, the order ID, the amount and currency paid, and any refund of that order.

2.3 Free trial

Until a license is activated, each time you open dilcall it sends us this Mac’s device ID once (again a little later if we could not be reached). The device ID is a one-way hash of the Mac’s hardware identifier; it cannot be reversed and contains no name, email or other identity details. We store only the device ID and the trial start time, to prevent repeated trials on the same Mac. The record is deleted automatically 2 years after the trial started; you may ask us to delete it sooner. Once a license is activated, these trial requests stop.

2.4 When you activate and use a license

When you activate a license, check it (automatically every 3 days while online) or deactivate a Mac, the app sends us: the license key (we store a one-way hash of it and an encrypted copy so we can resend it to you), a one-way hash of your Mac’s hardware identifier (never the identifier itself), your Mac’s name as set in System Settings, the dilcall version, the macOS version, the Mac model and the processor type (Apple silicon or Intel). We use this to enforce the 3-Mac limit, to show you which Macs use your key, and to help with support.

2.5 When you download dilcall

For each download we record the date, the version, your IP address, the country derived from it and your browser’s user-agent string, to count downloads and prevent abuse. The IP address is erased after 90 days.

2.6 When you email us or ask for your key again

We keep your messages and our replies. License emails are sent through our email delivery provider. To prevent abuse, the license-key page keeps short-lived counters derived from your IP address and email address in hashed form.

2.7 When you visit this website

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the site and protect it. No cookies are set unless you accept analytics (see section 4).

We do not collect location data beyond the country above, and we do not offer third-party sign-in.

We may use aggregated figures that identify no one, such as the number of downloads per country or of activations per macOS version.

4. Cookies

The dilcall app uses no cookies. This website sets no cookies by default. If we use Google Analytics, we ask first, and analytics cookies are set only if you accept. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. See Google’s privacy policy.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf:

  • Waffo Pancake: payments, receipts, tax and refunds. Payment card data is processed by Waffo Pancake and is not stored on our servers.
  • Cloudflare: website hosting, the license service and its database, and access control for our administration pages.
  • Our email delivery provider (gsend.io): sending license emails.
  • Google: website analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights, or to a successor in a merger or acquisition, which would remain bound by this policy. When macOS downloads speech or translation models, that exchange is between your Mac and Apple and is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

6. Security

All connections to dilcall.com use HTTPS. License keys are stored encrypted and looked up by hash; Mac hardware identifiers are stored only as hashes. Access to our administration pages is limited to us and protected by Cloudflare Access. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the competent authority without undue delay and, where required, within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
